Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Demonstration March 18, 2016

U.S. Embassy Pristina informs U.S. citizens that demonstrations are expected to take place at “Hasan Prishtina” square in Vushtrri at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 18, 2016.  Opposition parties will be demonstrating against the establishment of a new municipality.  The anticipated size of the protest is unknown.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
