Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Demonstration February 24-25, 2016

U.S. Embassy Pristina informs U.S. citizens that according to reports, demonstrations are expected to take place in downtown Pristina at the LDK ( Lidhja Demokratike e Kosoves) office located at UCK Street (Qafa Complex) office from 5:00 pm. on February 24, 2016 and again from 10:00 a.m. on February 25, 2016.  Political parties in Kosovo will be demonstrating with the stated purpose of protesting against upcoming Assembly actions.  The anticipated size of the protest is unknown.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
