U.S. Embassy Pristina informs U.S. citizens that according to media reports, demonstrations are expected to take place today, August 7, 2015 beginning at 12:00 noon in Skenderbeg Square in downtown Pristina. The KLA War Veterans Organizations in Kosovo will be demonstrating to request implementation of legislation relevant to their interests. The anticipated size of the protest is unknown.
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
