U.S. House of Representatives Delegation from the House of Democratic Partnership arrives in Kosovo, February 18, 2017
A bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives arrives in Pristina today for two days of meetings as part of the House Democracy Partnership (HDP). The HDP is a bipartisan, twenty-member commission of the U.S. House of Representatives that works directly with partner countries around the world to support the development of effective, independent, and responsive legislative institutions. The delegation visiting Kosovo will be led by HDP Chairman, Congressman Peter Roskam (Republican-Illinois) and include Ranking Member Congressman David Price (Democrat-North Carolina), Congressman Adrian Smith (Republican- Nebraska), and Congressman Gerry Connolly (Democrat-Virginia).
The Delegation will meet with the Prime Minister, Speaker of the Assembly, numerous Assembly members, and civil society as well as visit with U.S. Service Members.
The delegation is pleased to arrive in Kosovo so near to Kosovo’s Independence Day, in order to reiterate the strong bipartisan support for Kosovo in the U.S. Congress. The United States is committed to helping Kosovo move along the path to further European integration by strengthening institutions like the Assembly and deepening bilateral relations.
