Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo

Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo

The Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo marked its formal launch in April of 2014. It is a part of the global network of Youth Advisory Councils established by the U.S. Department of State.  The goal of the council is to empower and promote the youth of Kosovo by providing them the means to channel their potential.  Given that over 50% of Kosovo’s population is under 30, advancing the younger generation is critically important to promoting peace, community service, as well as the integration of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic community.

The members of the Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo are a diverse group including U.S. alumni, civil society members and students, and together they work towards reaching the Council’s objectives:

  • To serve as a bridge between the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo and the Kosovar youth.
  • To raise the awareness about youth issues by, among other efforts, proposing and implementing solutions.
  • To promote an all inclusive society which is tolerant and open to diversity in all facets of life.
  • To strengthen the sense of active citizenship among the youth of Kosovo through leadership and community service activities.

The Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo is a non-partisan, non-political, and non-profit organization. It aims to encompass – through its membership as well as activities – people of all ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds.
