Alumni Small Grants

The application period for this program is now closed, we hope to offer the program again in 2017.

The Alumni Small Grants Program is intended to promote alumni leadership and networking, as well as facilitate cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Pristina in strategic fields for the future of Kosovo: strengthening the rule of law, promoting economic development and improving regional security.

Successful proposals will bring together alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange programs to work on a project together. To be eligible to submit an application, project leaders must be alumni of a U.S. government-funded exchange program including, but not limited to: IVLP, Fulbright, Humphrey, Ben Franklin, TLP, Access, YES, KYEP, UGRAD, Ron Brown, Marshall Center and KAEF.

Grant proposals must:

  1. Demonstrate how participating alumni will use their exchange experience to address a challenge/issue in Kosovo;
  2. Include a project timeline that takes place between April and December 2016;
  3. Include a budget that is no more than USD $4,000;
  4. Specify how the project will be evaluated by project participants; and
  5. Demonstrate sustainability once funding for the project ends.

Priority consideration will be given to proposals who:

  • Work with an American Corner to implement the grant;
  • Cooperate with other alumni or alumni from different programs to implement the grant; and/or
  • Share with a wider community the knowledge or skills gained in the exchange program or training.

Project budgets are encouraged to include cost-sharing and may only include allowable costs.  Project results must be presented in written, photographic or video format to the U.S. Embassy in Pristina for publication on the U.S. Embassy website: http://pristina.usembassy.gov and our social media pages.
