American Corners in Kosovo are jointly sponsored partnerships between the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy Pristina and local libraries. The mission of the American Corner program is to promote mutual understanding between the people of Kosovo and the people of the United States. American Corners provide access to current, reliable information about the United States through book collections, the Internet, and local programming.
All American Corners in Kosovo provide free membership and information to the general public about the United States through their rich and diverse resources, such as books, DVDs, magazines, databases, free internet access, etc. They also provide a wide range of programming and activities, such as: English language learning; teachers’ workshops; webinar sessions on English language teaching and learning; English courses for journalists; poetry sessions; presentations related to U.S. holidays, culture, geography, politics, etc., observation of international days, movie nights, girls clubs, conversational clubs, game days, summer camps, information sessions on grants and educational exchange opportunities, etc.
There are three American Corners in Kosovo: American Corner Pristina, American Corner Prizren and American Corner Mitrovica.
American Corner Pristina
American Corner Pristina officially opened on November 20, 2003, and is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy Pristina and the National and University Library of Kosovo.
American Corner Pristina provides an extensive book and U.S. magazine collection, a wide range of electronic databases and free Internet access for research. It also has regular programming activities, focused on English language learning, lectures, film showing, conversation clubs, etc.

American Corner Prizren officially opened on April 27, 2006, and is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy Pristina and the Inter-Municipal Library in Prizren.
American Corner Prizren provides a wide range of books covering various subject matters, a variety of U.S. magazines, a wide range of electronic databases and free Internet access for research. It also has monthly programming activities to include English language learning, lectures, film showing, conversation clubs, girls club, games with children, etc.
