U.S. Embassy Pristina informs U.S. citizens that according to media reports, demonstrations are expected to take place in downtown Pristina on Monday March 30, 2015 from 12:00 noon along Mother Teresa Square and surrounding areas. The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans in Kosovo will be demonstrating with the stated purpose of seeking benefits from the government. The anticipated size of the protest is unknown.
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
