Hello! I’m Philip Kosnett.
Fifteen years ago, I served at the American diplomatic mission in Pristina.
Now I’m honored to return as ambassador to help strengthen the close friendship between our two great countries.
My wife, Alison, and I look forward to exploring the country and to making new friends from all communities.
We want to hear your ideas on how Kosovo and America can work together in many areas: business, rule of law, security, education and more.
Alison and I also hope during our time here to discuss the experience of living in a multicultural, multi-ethnic, religiously diverse society: something our two countries share.
Diversity can enrich us culturally and inspire innovative solutions to national problems.
And I believe that communities and individuals must honestly consider their past to build a bright future together. No one understood this better than American civil rights activist Ida Wells, whose words are enshrined on the wall of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.: “The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.”
I hope to see you soon. Thanks for watching. Faleminderit! Hvala!
